Product Care

Useful information and recommended tips on how to take care of your Lemnos Clock.

Setting Up for the First Time

Use the Screw Included with Your Clock

When hanging a Lemnos Clock on the wall, please use the screw (for wooden surfaces) that comes with your Lemnos Clock.  Please do not use an adhesive type hanging hook or system.  The average weight of a Lemnos Clock may be close to 1 kilogram and we recommend hanging a Lemnos Clock on the wall only using the most secured method.

Clocks with Exposed Minute and Hour Hands

Certain Lemnos Clocks such as the CARVED series, Lemnos Cuckoo Clocks, Earth, Divide, Molecule, Dandelion Clock, and other models, have exposed minute and hour hands.  By design, there is no glass cover and adjustment of time may be performed by winding the minute hand clockwise.  Please perform this task slowly with care to avoid bending, stripping, or damaging the hands.  These parts are not replaceable.

Consider Wearing Clean Gloves

When handling a Lemnos Clock for the first time, it is recommended to wear clean gloves or handling the timepiece with a clean dry cloth to preserve and protect the color and luster of the clock frame from the moisture of the hands.

Handle with Care

Hour, Minute, Second Hand, and the Cuckoo Bird

Lemnos time instruments and parts such as hour, minute, second hands, and cuckoo bird of the Lemnos Cuckoo Clocks are proprietarily designed and manufactured, and cannot be replaced once lost, damaged, or misplaced.  Please handle them with care.

Clock Movement

Lemnos clock movements are proprietarily designed and are not available to purchase neither from Lemnos as parts nor from online stores.  Third-party clock movements are not compatible with the Lemnos clock hands.

Cleaning

Clean Dry Cloth Only
A Lemnos Clock with a glass cover uses specially Made in Japan glass that is ultra-thin for clarity and durable.  The glass and clock frame should be cleaned only with a clean dry cloth.  Avoid using any liquid such as water, or alcohol-based cleaners when cleaning because chemicals and moisture may cause discoloration to the clock frame.

Quiet Time

Every Lemnos Clock is Silent

There is no ticking, period.
Every Lemnos Cuckoo Clock uses a proprietary clock movement that is connected to a built-in light sensor.  When it becomes completely dark, the cuckoo bird will not chirp nor come out of its house.  This ensures a quiet night time's use of your favorite Lemnos Cuckoo Clock.
